Known locally as the Dolphin Coast, Salt Rock is located on a magnificent coastline with golden beaches, superb surfing, fishing and safe swimming conditions, set amidst a tropical climate.

Zuider Zee Guest House has everything to offer the holidaymaker, or businessperson, with a relaxed atmosphere and spectacular sea views. The bustling port city of Durban is just 50km away and Ballito is within easy access with good shopping and restaurant facilities. Salt Rock is located close to many game reserves, historical and local attractions, top quality 18 hole golf courses, making it a perfect venue.

Accommodation

Zuider Zee Guesthouse offers 6 lovely private rooms and log cabins en suite, with panoramic sea views overlooking the valley below and the golden beach of Salt Rock embracing the warm Indian Ocean. All have their own individual character in style and décor, but there is no compromise in attention to, and good quality in the overall standard of furnishings, amenities, service and home-from-home hospitality.

We have 2 Double Rooms (one with self catering facilities), 1 Superior Studio Suite (with self catering facilities) perfect for honeymoon couples, 1 Family Suite (a 2/4 sleeper) and 2 Self catering Log Cabins (one 2 sleeper and one 2/4 sleeper).

Services & Facilties

All rooms are fully serviced daily, and equipped with ceiling fans, satellite TV 6 channels (4 channels only in the Log Cabins), coffee/tea facility, clock radio, hairdryer, safe, and a bar fridge. All are en suite, and have private entrances, patios and Braai / BBQ facilities, with spectacular valley and sea views. Linen and beach towels are also provided.

A Communal Kitchen Gazebo is available close to the guestrooms, to prepare and cook meals, with cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, and a double plate stove top, Deep freeze facility, wash line and sink.

Breakfast

We offer breakfast in an intimate "breakfast nook", where you can enjoy your meal, whilst absorbing the natural vegetation of the surroundings and the Indian Ocean. Complimentary coffee / tea is supplied in your room / unit.

Facilities

There is a sparkling swimming pool surrounded by a spacious patio and sundeck where you can relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery, wonderful tropical climate, lush vegetation and appreciate the abundant bird life, or watch the bottlenose Dolphins frolic through the surf. Whales can also be spotted on their annual migration to Mozambique for the summer. We have safe off street parking and a stress free environment, secured by two loving dogs.

For those seeking a quiet and Intimate reading area, there is a sun lounge and bar counter overlooking the sea, After a busy day sightseeing, sun tanning or swimming on the beach, or just conducting your business activities, relax and watch the sunset, enjoying the natural splendour of the warm Indian Ocean and dream of that idyllic lifestyle!
