Jolo Guest Farm is located on a quiet district road in Rosetta close to the Drakensberg Mountains in the heart of a vibrant farming community and is situated on the banks of the Mooi River where fly fishing and great birding can be enjoyed. You will be overlooked by the Crested Eagle the Jackal Buzzard the Crowned Crane our resident Ostrich “Hector”and many others so bring your bird and mammal books and binoculars.
Self Catering Accommodation
Jolo Guest Farm offers luxury, “Superior” self catering cottage accommodation on the Midlands Meander in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands. Each cottage has two spacious double bedrooms with full en suite bathrooms. Full DSTV, patio with braai, stunning views, and spectacular sunsets and covered parking.
Our philosophy is peace and tranquility and with this in mind we have named our two cottages: Ukuthula: Meaning calm, peace and tranquility; and Ukuzola: Meaning to stay cool, relax.
The kitchens are fully fitted including gas / electric stove, microwave, fridge freezer, dish washer and all the necessary cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glasses. The cottages are serviced and a laundry and ironing service is available. The lounge and dining room are elegantly furnished, an open gas fire will keep you warm on those midlands days that are cool. The general beauty of the area provides a quiet getaway to relax and recharge.

Features of the area include birding, walking, climbing, mountain biking, motor cycling, arts & crafts, fishing, golf, photography, rock art, areas of historical interest, horse riding, beauty salons and Spas great restaurants, bars, outstanding wine estates and local micro brewery.
Jolo Guest Farm is a working beef farm within easy reach of the N3 motorway 450 kilometres from Johannesburg and 150 kilometres from Durban. It is close to Michaelhouse, Treverton, Clifton, Hilton and St Anne’s schools.
Jolo Guest Farm is in the middle of the famous Arts & Crafts route, The Midlands Meander. There are presently 180 members of the Meander representing over 200 business entities. The Zulu and Boer wars battlefield sites and museums are a significant attraction and are situated close by.
Rosetta was an integral part of the Colonial farm pioneering boom of the mid to late 1800’s. Its future looked more secure in 1895 when Natal authorities built the Meshlyn Bridge and finally secured a place on the map a year later with construction of its still standing hotel.
Rosetta is close to the Highmoor, Kamberg, Loteni and Giants Castle Nature reserves all offer hiking and fishing opportunities. This area is renowned for Trout fishing with many dams and the rivers, big and little Mooi and the Bushmans are legendary.
