Ihophe Cottage \ Accommodation in Champagne Valley

Nestled in the peaceful Champagne Valley of the Central Drakensberg in KwaZulu Natal you will find Ihophe ("Turtle Dove") Cottage. The double storey thatched cottage boasts unrestricted views of Champagne Castle, Cathkin Peak, Dragons Back and Sterkhorn, second to none.

Accommodation

The cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms (one has a double bed) and has two bathrooms.

The kitchen is well equipped including stove and microwave oven.The comfortable lounge has a TV. Please bring your own Smartcard for DSTV.

There is a braai for those summer evenings or wintery afternoons.

Please no smoking in the cottage.

Attractions & Activities

Lovely hikes are on the property, Bushmen painting caves are not far away, or major hikes starting from close-by Monks Cowl Parks Board Station.

A falconry farm is close by with regular displays and trout fishing at the Bell Park Dam. Several good restaurants are in the valley as well as a number of interesting curio shops, boasting among other things candle-making and rug weaving. Helicopter flights are also available.

An 18 hole golf course is situated at the Sports & Racket Hotel.
The world famous Drakensberg Boys' Choir is a stones throw away. Regular concerts are held each Wednesday evening in the school auditorium during term.
