The Everglades Hotel & Conference Centre \ Accommodation in Dargle

The Everglades Hotel is situated in the foothills of the southern Drakensberg of KwaZulu Natal, with the imposing Inhlosane Mountain as a backdrop, and a friendly staff eager to make each guest’s visit a memorable one.

The main building houses the dining room, bar, café, billiards room and main lounge, and has open fireplaces to ward off any winter chills, while different room grades ensure accommodation to suit every pocket and still provide all the quality and the amenities required for an enjoyable stay.

Accommodation

All our guest rooms offer comfortable atmospheres with views of either the golf course and valley or the country gardens. The rooms are all en-suite with TVs, telephones and tea / coffee facilities. For the colder months there are heaters available although the Superior and Executive rooms have under floor heating and/or electric blankets.

Breakfast and Dining

Our main dining room is open for breakfasts and dinners, with either a table d’hôte menu or a buffet depending on the occasion. A continental breakfast and a full English breakfast are always available, and The Wattle & Daub pub with its pool table and dart boards invites guests to socialise in a comfortable and friendly ambiance. The Copper Kettle Café is open from 10h30 to 15h30 daily, providing light lunches from our soup/curry of the day to a fillet steak or toasted sandwich.

Conferences

We boast 3 beautiful thatched Conference Venues with open fireplaces can accommodate up to 120 delegates. The pristine Reedbuck Boma is the perfect thatched venue for wedding receptions, private dinners, corporate functions or just a braai, the wooden deck holds a fire pit and overlooks one of the mountain’s springs.

Weddings

Everglades is situated beneath the imposing Inhlosane Mountain in the upper Dargle amidst the beautiful Midlands countryside. It boasts indigenous forests, mountain streams and is a perfect venue for a country wedding. Our expert team will assure you of an unforgettable day, providing you with personal professional service.

The Wellness Centre

The Everglades Hotel Wellness Centre is a serene place where one’s tensions are melted away by the capable, professional and well trained therapists. Our Gymnasium is attached to the Wellness Centre to form our Health & Fitness Centre.

Activities and Attractions

Our 9-hole golf course, overlooking the Dargle Valley itself, is a par 3 with a quaint little pond and lies in spectacular surroundings which are often used by wedding photographers. For the more active guests we offer a tennis court, volleyball court, table tennis and guided hikes up the Inhlosane Mountain or to the “Singing Rock”.

For a more relaxing activity we have a spectacular bowling green which boasts its own lapa for pre/post game refreshments. Of course there is the swimming pool, and should the weather preclude outdoor activities, we are able to offer a wide range of board games or simply a pack of cards.

Children

For the children visiting the Everglades we have a trampoline, which is for the young and young at heart, and a jungle gym; both are situated near the guest rooms for parental peace of mind, and should the parents require such assistance we can offer a babysitting service.
