Ammazulu African Palace \ Accommodation in Kloof

Ammazulu Palace is a unique luxury lodge just outside Durban on the edge of Kloof Gorge and Krantzkloof Nature Reserve.

Ammazulu Palace is a truly spectacular five star venue for you to unwind and experience a special stay inside the elaborately crafted beaded and mosaiced columns and decorated walkways, halls and bedrooms full of African craft.

Accommodation

Ammazulu Palace has 10 luxury suites, spa facilities and a large function hall to seat up to 60 persons with a private lounge and dining area overlooking the gorge for the guests to relax and enjoy themselves as well as even more private lounges in the suites.

Presidential Suite:
Front view Presidential Suites overlooking the Krantzkloof Gorge Nature Reserve. Sweeping private balconies entice you to spend some time lounging in luxury. Suites are decorated with original African art works and beaded panels extending even into the large en-suite bathrooms. These rooms have large king size beds, DStv and flat screens.

The Executive Suites:
An extra large suite with original artworks, separate lounge, bedroom and en - suite bathroom. Enjoy your own private balcony with views over Kloof and the Umgeni Valley. On a clear day one can even see as far as the sea. The rooms have DStv and flat-screen TV’s.

Deluxe Suites:
The suites have King size beds and your own private balcony as well as a separate lounge with tea / coffee facilities and bar fridges. The rooms are decorated with original artworks and antique bead-work. Extreme views over the Kloof Valley on the cooler South side.

Junior Suites:
These rooms are smaller rooms, one with an antique four poster bed. Enjoy the views from your own private balcony overlooking the nature reserve. DStv and tea / coffee, as well as bar facilities are available.

FACILITIES

Wireless and internet facilities are also available in all our rooms and lounges. You are invited to come and experience the sensory delight of Ammazulu Palace. Truly a destination where you can also pamper yourself in our sauna or steam room or merely lounge on one of the many decks overlooking the beautiful natural surroundings with zebra grazing a few meters away and eagles soaring overhead in the reserve.

Activities and Attractions

It is also possible to take a leisurely nature walk along the top of the gorge or play golf at the nearby country club. All this and more a mere 20 minutes drive from Durban city center awaits you.

The Palace reflecting on parts of KwaZulu Natal’s cultural history is the vision of two architects, Kevin MacGary and Peter Amm, who has used his entire collection of Zulu arts and crafts and incorporated into the building and architecture.
